In the first book to be published under KDDs new Make // Mark imprint, British-Italian designer, Claudia Fiocchetti presents a collection of bold and appealing accessory designs. From the 17 patterns included here, you might choose to knit a pair of elegant gloves; a long circular snood; a tam with a kaleidoscopic crown; or one of 5 different matching sets for head and hands. Drawing inspiration from everything from Italian architectural façades to the snowcapped mountains of Abruzzo; from antique mosaics and carpets to the found motifs of the natural world; each pattern reveals Claudia’s particularly attentive, creative and emotive approach to design. Knitted in KDDs Milarrochy Tweed and Àrd-Thìr yarns, and edited and with a foreword by Kate Davies, in this collection, Claudia Fiocchetti has truly made colour move.

You can find the yarn packs for Colour Moves designs in KDD shop

Your unique download code, enabling you to access your complimentary digital version of Colour Moves, is printed on the inside cover of your book.

Warm Hands cover.jpg

In February 2019 I read about Warm Hands Competition just launched then by Kate Davies and my brain was immediately hit by a storm of ideas, that for many reasons I was ‘storing’ for long time! The brief was that the designs for hand accessories that would fit the best in Warm Hands collection in terms of style, technique and palette would have been published together with other designs, some of which by very well known designers others by newbies like myself. There we are: months later, in January 2020, ‘Blue Interference’, one of the designs I submitted, has been published in the amazing Warm Hands book, co-edited by Jeanette Sloan and Kate Davies. It is a collection of 15 colourful, creative, modern and contemporary fresh designs (gloves, mittens, mitts and gauntlets) knitted in either Milarrochy Tweed and Àrd-Thìr Kate Davies Designs’ yarns. You will be spoilt with choices as the collection has an interesting variety of designs, patterns, motives, textures, palettes, techniques. Each print copy comes with a unique code for accessing the e-book on Ravelry

Gradient Mesh - Sweater

This sweater is based on a triple-square motif, which highlights a beautiful gradient of 8, 9 or 10 shades of Milarrochy Tweed (depending on the size) across a neutral background or vice versa. The Gradient Mesh set of beanie and gauntlets, published in Colour Moves, is featuring a doubled-square motif; in this design, I chose to use a bigger allover repeat.

Breaking a long silence

Writing again on this blog after a very long silence is not easy! But here I’m attempting it!

I disappeared from the knitting scene for a while, but that doesn’t mean that I stopped to knit! I have been very busy with my main work, and obviously, my knitting slowed a bit, but never got to a complete halt.

New beanie and more

Having been quiet for a while, I wanted to say ‘hello’ introducing a new design, just launched today! It is a two-shade beanie, which has my name because it turned out exactly as I wanted it and it fits very comfy on my head! I have been playing with stitches for sculptural effects, and this is one of a few new designs of this kind.
